第二十二祖摩拏羅者，
那提國常自在王之子也。
年三十，
遇婆修祖師出家傳法。
至西印度，
彼國王名得度，
即瞿曇種族，
歸依佛乘，
勤行精進。
一日，
於行道處現一小塔，
欲取供養，
眾莫能舉。
王即大會梵行、
禪觀、
呪術等三眾，
欲問所疑。
時尊者亦赴此會，
是三眾皆莫能辯。
尊者即為王廣說塔之所因︰

「今之出現，
王福力之所致也。
」
王聞是說，
乃曰︰
「至聖難逢，
世樂非久。
」
即傳位太子，
投祖出家，
